A wonderful start to the New Year…

It takes some effort to drag oneself out of bed on the first workday of the new year. But an e-blast from Left Coast Crime made it much easier for a few of our Chicks. Congratulations to Ellen and Jen for Lefty nominations in the category of Best Humorous Mystery and Leslie for a Best Mystery Novel nomination!

And congratulations to all the nominees…

For readers who aren’t familiar with Left Coast Crime, here’s a little bit about it:

Left Coast Crime is an annual mystery convention sponsored by mystery fans, both readers and authors. LCC is held during the first third of the year in Western North America. (For details and a map, see LCC Geographic Region.) Conventions have been held from Anchorage to El Paso, from Denver to Hawaii, and various locations in between. Our purpose is to host an event where readers, authors, critics, librarians, publishers, and other fans can gather in convivial surroundings to pursue their mutual interests.

This year, Left Coast will take place in San Francisco from February 25-March 1st, and our very own Leslie Karst will be the toastmaster! If you’d like more info on LCC, click here.

  4. So proud of the showing my marvelous Chicks have made at this year’s Left Coast Crime–yay Ellen and Jen!

    I adore Left Coast Crime because it’s not as crazy-ginormous as Bouchercon, is geared for all genres of crime writers and readers, and because it’s always in a terrific location each year! I hope to see lots of you in San Francisco next month!

  5. Woohoo, El, Jen, and Leslie! What a fab way indeed to kick off the new year. Huge congrats! I’m a huge fan of Left Coast Crime–it’s definitely one of my fave conferences. I travel all the way from the East Coast every year to attend. Congrats again to our nominated Chicks!

  9. Our first favorite city, along with NOLA, Savannah. and Key West. I have never been to any writer’s convention but would love to. Congrats to three of my favorite writers: Ellen Byron, Jennifer J. Chow and Leslie Karst. Good luck and God bless.

  10. Congratulations to Ellen, Jennifer, and Leslie. I haven’t ever been been to a mystery convention and really want to attend one someday. This would have been a great one to attend because I love San Francisco.

  12. Happy to be on the list of nominated–along with my fellow Chicks friends, Ellen & Leslie! Hurrah! Haven’t been to SF in a long time, so I’m excited to visit again. See some of you there!
