Happy Book Birthday to FRENCH QUARTER FRIGHT NIGHT!

“The worlds of Hollywood and New Orleans collide in a fantastic whodunnit.”

J.C. Kenney, author of the Elmo Simpson Mysteries

It’s release day for FRENCH QUARTER FRIGHT NIGHT, the third book in Ellen Byron’s Vintage Cookbook Mystery series! Halloween isn’t just a day, it’s a month of celebrations in New Orleans. Ricki James-Diaz and her friend at Bon Vee Culinary House Museum are ready to take advantage of every spookily entertaining activity… until a movie star Ricki happens to know moves in next door, bringing back terrible memories and setting off a chain of events that lead to murder.

**Includes recipes adapted from Ellen’s personal collection of vintage cookbooks!

Welcome to the Bon Veeevil and Duncan-Sejour Festival of Fear. Prepare for the scariest night of your life…!

It’s Halloween, and the staff of New Orleans’ Bon Vee Culinary House Museum is creating  a fantastic haunted house tour for their visitors. But when movie star Blaine Taggart and his entourage move into the mansion next door, Bon Vee gift shop proprietor Ricki James-Diaz gets a real fright.

While Ricki is excited about the new customers the haunted house tours will bring to her vintage cookbooks and kitchenware gift shop, she’s far less excited that it’s also brought the unpleasant flash from her past that is Blaine Taggart. Then a fake tomb that’s part of the haunted house tour becomes a real tomb when Blaine’s obnoxious assistant Miranda Fine is found dead inside, and suddenly everyone at Bon Vee – including Ricki -is a suspect.

NOPD is busy tackling the rise of mischief and mayhem wrought by the spooky holiday, so it falls on Ricki and her friends to figure out how to catch a killer because there isn’t a ghost of a chance one of them did it. Since Miranda made enemies from Los Angeles to Louisiana when she was alive, the gang has their work cut out for them as the Big Easy gears up for the Big Scary. Everyone has skeletons in their closets, so can Ricki track down the killer before someone else becomes part of the Halloween horror show?

  1. I can’t wait to read it. I preordered it but just got bad news today that I won’t get in until the 19th of September as there aren’t enough books from Barnes & Nobles. Boo-hoo, but that must mean (I hope) that you sold a lot. A Boucheron will be in NOLA next year. I wanted to go to Nashville, but Labor Day Weekend stopped me. I hope that it is at a different time that is easier to travel and if so, I will be there at your old stomping grounds. We love NOLA as you know.

      1. You know that anything in NOLA is where I want to be. We shall see. Thanks Ellen. And you almost had it correct. It is Madeleine. I want to meet you and greet you and share NOLA stories. God will help us, I hope. Maybe I will come earlier and that will make the differene. Keep me posted.
