Happy Summer!

Summer’s doing what summer does best here at Chicks on the Case: keeping us busy with vacations, family time, and beach reads (both reading them and writing them!). Wherever you are, we hope you’re soaking up some fun, snacks, and a seriously good read.

  2. I had a houseful of in-laws in June, and I’m headed to Seattle in about ten days. I’m so excited to get out of hot Texas and head to the coast!

  4. Between cons and other biz-related trips the rest of the year, I’m actually taking the summer off from travel. I hate dealing with the crowds, too. So, not having much of a summer here. But friends bought a small house for a lot of money a few blocks from the beach in Oxnard and we’ll be spending the night with them in a couple of weeks.

  5. Right now, I’m just chillin’ at home, writing, trying to get the next Natalie McMasters book, Cult!, out by August 1 so I can take it to Killer Nashville in late August.

    Speaking of Killer Nashville, my book To Keep Our Honor Clean: A 3M Detective Agency Novel was chosen as a top pick (i.e., semifinalist) for the Silver Falchion award this year. This is the third time one of my books has placed for that award. Killers! won it in 2022, and Sister! was a finalist in 2023.

    In September, I’ll be at the C3 Con in Maryland.

  6. Spent a long weekend in St. Louis with friends from all over the country. Later this month, I’m going to spend a week camping with my family in the redwoods.

  7. I’m not taking any trips this summer until NOLA for Bouchercon–which is gonna be great! (assuming the weather works out)–but I’ll be enjoying beautiful Santa Cruz with bike rides and walks along the beach.
