Cozy readers—and especially Chicks on the Case readers—are some of the most creative folks on the planet so we’re asking you to play Chick Pic with us!
In the comments, give us a couple of sentences … who is this? What’s her back story? Victim, criminal, detective, murderer, spy? The more ridiculous the better! What’s going on? The subject may look familiar, but remember, things aren’t always as they seem. Each comment can build on the previous until we have a fully-fleshed out character, or even the beginnings of a story. Or if you don’t like the direction the comment thread is going, start a new one. Writing is all about rewriting, after all. Let’s have some wacky creative fun!

To save her son’s life, Gabriella must do the bidding of the cruel head of the Santiago cartel, Ruiz.

But Gabriella is no one’s toy. She has a plan to save her son and take down Ruiz.

But first, she’ll need to gather her posse

She realized taking a selfie right before the mission began was a gamble, but having the pic for posterity was going to be oh, so sweet.

But wait! It can’t be a selfie from that angle. One of her trustworthy crew (who will be piloting the other plane in the background) is taking the pic. Is the photo really for posterity…or blackmail?

Blackmail.

It soon is discovered, however, that Gabriella is heir to the Truqué jewelry fortune, and that the island-hopping, disco-loving heiress would NEVER be caught dead in ripped jeans and a puffer jacket. Or would she….?

Gabriella’s spy name is Cynthia. She’s saving her son, but also meeting up with her honey pie, call him Mr. K. Watch her, she’s one tricky gal!

Cyn–you own an official spy name now!

Tracy, that’s not Cynthia standing next to the plane — but I’m flattered you thought it might be! Helps that it’s a bit blurry, lol!

*Gasp!* I’m conned by the chicks again! Sorry Vickie and Cyn! My bad. In my defense, I said Cyn couldn’t be trusted. Lol xo

Or maybe, Tracy, it’s Vickie we can’t trust!

When the second plane takes off without her, Gabriella realizes she’s been double-crossed. If pilot Marco, the most trusted member of her posse, doesn’t arrive in the next five minutes, Gabriella will have to fly the plane herself — even though she’s only had one flying lesson! What could have happened to Marco?

Tonight, the Red Baron is going down. Snoopy must be avenged!

True to his word, Marco swore he’d get back at Gabriella’s jewelry family dynasty. Nobody, but nobody, sells him cubic zirconium. He was the laughingstock of society when he proposed with that monstrosity in a box.

But then, Gabriella and Marco were approached by a representative from Dr. Phil’s show with a lucrative offer to appear and discuss their “relationship challenges.”

J.C., I’m thinking their biggest relationship challenge is that he presented an engagement ring to someone else, cubic zirconium or not. First, she must save her son — who (she’s pretty sure) is also Marco’s son! How could Marco let them down now? Has Ruiz captured him, too?!

It’s a bittersweet departure for Gabriella as she trades her highflying days as a trapeze artist/heiress for the role of single engine (and single lesson) pilot. As she readies herself for takeoff, she muses, “Sure, there’s no net, but how hard can this kind of flying be?”

It wasn’t hard at all, she realized, swooping over Marco and strafing him like a WWI ace. Problem solved. “I like flying solo,” she said as she pointed her nose toward the sunny shores of Cabo.

What a lovely ending. But is that Ruiz’s private pilot, bringing the cartel jefe’s plane close enough to read the call letters N74963? Will Gabriella end up Ruiz’s prisoner back in Santiago? Or outwit his pilot with a cool trapeze-inspired plane maneuver and make an emergency landing in the jungle with a secret cargo of previous diamonds? To be continued…Maybe.

I like this, Lisa! Since Becky has already dispatched that weasel Marco, Gabs can use the diamonds as ransom — or bait — to rescue her son!
