Hello Again, Human Friends

So happy to see you! Mom is still working on her book, so I’ve been asked to provide a puppy update–or “pupdate,” if you will–about the routine I’ve developed since my last visit in September. Can’t believe I’m already five months old!

In the morning, I like to find a sunbeam in which I can do my own style of yoga. Downward dog is my favorite, of course.

Next, I run around the yard as fast as possible until I’m tired, then adjourn to the garden to bask in the sunshine a bit more. Or that’s what Mom calls it. I call it sitting on her plants. Like a boss.

Back inside, I gather as many toys as I can find into a pile and imagine that I’m their queen. If you come toward us, first I will give you this look to indicate that you should not plan to take any of them. But then I wag my tail because you’re coming closer, and I love you so much.

At some point, I will perform my disappearing act. I have constructed a top secret hiding place. Although my leash is already attached to my harness for walking, I’m pretty sure that no one has been able to crack the exact location of my Fortress of Invisibility! Mwahahaha.

Finally, my big sister Lucy and I do several daily patrols. And by patrols, I mean that we go for walks and say hi to all the dogs and humans in the proximity. We are very good at saying hi. (Hi!)

Also, we wish you a happy holiday season–with so much joy that you feel like this inside!

Kisses,

Lily 🐾

What is something new (or fun) that you are up to?

  1. OMG, how much do I love this?! The photos! The doggy! The last photo, which should win an award in a dog photo contest!

As to something fun, I’m going to LA’s first Christmas Market on Thursday, which I’m looking forward to. Cammie will remain at home, destroying more toys.

    1. Hi! Thank you for the love! I hope your ears are flying up today too with happiness. Market sounds so fun and I know my friend Cammie will have a blast at home destroying toys. (High five, Cammie!) 🖤 Lily

  2. Lily, you’re adorable!!

Fun things I’m doing? I’ve pulled out my festive gear as I continue to be invited to seasonal activities. I recently wore glasses with polar bears on them for a livestream event with Beachbumbookworm. And I wore my jingle bell necklaces while volunteering at our school’s Christmas tree lot. 🙂

    1. That made me laugh, Jen, because I have these hideous xmas earrings made of out little ball ornaments that my kids gave me a thousand years ago. I wear them to every single holiday event and they do this clackety-clack noise that everyone but me hates. To complete my ensemble, I wear the necklace they gave me made of the big colored lightbulbs. This sad jewelry is so ugly it’s cute.

But not as cute as you, Lily! I will throw a ball for you anytime you want, so call me, maybe?

  3. Oh my goodness, Lily, but you are adorable! But then again, you already know that. And I agree with Ellen that that last photo is a winner! My Ziggy also loves to laze in the sun, but when we were in Alaska when she was a youngster, she loved to race around in the snow, as well–which I see you have a bit of right about now.

As for my current fun activities, I’ll be going to a rehearsal for “Messiah” tonight, which we’ll perform in a community sing-along in two week. Hallelujah!

    1. Hi! Ziggy knows how to race around in the snow too? She (and Cammie and everyone’s dog friends) should come on patrol with us. And I would like to hear your performance. Will you have a link? Maybe I can sing along too! 🖤Lily

  4. Lily, you are the bestest canine correspondent–right up there with Snoopy hunched over his typewriter on top of his doghouse. Glad to hear you’re keeping your entire household busy busy busy, like the adorable furball you are. And bet you can’t wait til the Christmas tree is all decorated just for you. Please keep those pupdates coming! (And good luck to your Mommy on her ms.!) Farley and Aloha send their love.

    1. Hi! You are very kind! Snoopy is a legend. I dream about sitting on a doghouse someday! Please give Farley and Aloha love back please and tell them they are invited to snow patrol with all of us too anytime! 🖤Lily

  5. Reading and working jigsaw puzzles is my fun. Buying too many Christmas presents for friends and family is a guilty pleasure and I keep doing it year after year. Working on genealogy is another favorite thing to do. The pup is my shadow and follows me everywhere during the time that I am downstairs. In the words of Cat Stevens, “I’m being followed by a moon shadow, moon shadow.” Well, she is it. We play, we go outside, we walk around the house, we go to the mailbox, and so it goes. But thank God she is here to give us love and a better life.

  6. Great job getting your mommy trained and you did it in only a couple of months! Also, I didn’t know dogs could fly simply by flapping their ears. You have many talents little one.
