As I was pondering possible subjects for today’s post, I thought back to the wide variety of things I’ve talked about here over the past few years, including: the Earth’s mass, the word “gals,” my newest books, mystery conventions, the Mozart Requiem, life in Hawai‘i, life in Santa Cruz, favorite books as a child, the ups and downs of writing, and even the actor Anthony Hopkins.
So what to write about this week? I wondered.
And then it struck me that a better question might be, What would YOU the reader like me—or any of the other Chicks—to write about?

So I decided to ask you. Now’s the time for our readers to chime in and let us know what you enjoy hearing about on our blog. What would you like more of? Or less of? Or perhaps something we’ve never before broached?
Here are some of the subject we’ve covered in the past, but feel free to add some of your own!
Our personal writing lives.
Our books (e.g., news about our works-in-progress, newly published books or stores, awards, book appearances).

The craft of writing.
Pieces about other writers or writers’ conventions/conferences.

some of the Chicks at Bouchercon this year
Our personal, non-writing related lives (e.g., hobbies, family, travel).
Posts about the world around us (e.g., the mass of the Earth).
Our pets.

Miss Ziggy
The arts in general: music, visual arts, non-mystery books, poetry, etc.
Vocabulary, language, word usage (e.g., the word “gals”).
Food! (One of my personal favorites.)

Celebrities, sports, TV, movies.
Random things we read or heard about that we want to share with you.
So what are your favorites? Any other ideas?

The topics you covered above are all great. I like the spontaneous conversations about nothing or whatever is on your mind at the moment.

I enjoy reading about all of the above. I love reading about Hawaii and other places you all have been to. What you do for research on your books is always a good topic.

I guess I can’t leave a comment from my phone. However you pick your topics, I always enjoy reading this blog! You are a bunch of creative, original thinkers.

Those dumplings look so good! I love it when you write about food and Hawaii, because you have a unique perspective to offer on both! Honestly, you could write about Hawaii every time and I’d be there for it!

Well, I return to Hilo a week from today, so you’ll be getting some of those posts soon!

I just like coming and seeing what is on your mind. All those subjects are fun. I’m not thinking about anything I’d love to see covered off the top of my head.
And, as a Babylon 5 fan, I’m having a really, really hard time not reacting to the title of this post. (Fans will know why.)
Heck, maybe that’s a good topic. Everyone’s reactions as they watch that awesome show for the first time. It has a scifi setting, but it has lots of mystery to it, so it totally fits with the vibe of the blog. 🙂 🙂 🙂

My brother’s a huge Babylon 5 fan, and given that I love sci-fi, I know I really need to check it out.

Mark, I love B5, so I know exactly why. 🙂

All the topics are good, but I do like the “let’s talk about whatever” days.

I like to read whatever you discuss. I especially like hearing about real life situations that make their way into your books.
I am not a Babylon 5 fan but now Mark has me curious enough I have to google what the title has to do with the show. You never know what rabbit hole this blog might send you down. 😉
