The Coziest Season

Fall is officially the coziest season, in my book. Yes, there’s  winter. You could argue for it, and that’s fine. They are both cozy in their own way.

But I absolutely adore how a cool, crisp autumn serves as a most welcome transition from the blazingly hot summer months. So rejuvenating to the body and spirit!

Anyway, here are some of my favorite Cozy Things:

  • Seeing the leaves turn gorgeous vivid colors and float down to the ground.
  • Walking on a windy day as the leaves rustle along the sidewalk.
  • Sitting next to the fireplace, being warmed by the flames.
  • Holding a steamy cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa in both hands.
  • Adding a soft and snuggly sweater, wrap, or blanket.
  • Lighting a candle—especially cinnamon, pumpkin, or vanilla scented.
  • Curling up with a great book (obviously a cozy mystery would be an excellent choice).

Please tell me your favorite Cozy Things in the comments…

  1. Good morning, Cynthia! Fun topic! One of my most favorite cozy things are slipper socks. Love them! Thick, soft, warm and comfortable. And safe, with those little plastic attachments on the bottom. Ha! I’m wearing a pair now. LOL!

  2. I love that cool snap in the air in the mornings and we can once again eat outside without sweltering. I do so enjoy sitting outside drinking my coffee in the sunshine! Plus I usually get motivated when the weather turns and actually tackle some of those projects I planned to spend the summer doing!

  3. Living in SoCal, we don’t get a lot of the markers for autumn. I really miss them. I used to love the leaves changing colors so much. But as we get into November, it does at least get cooler. And for me the best thing about fall is it means the holidays are coming!

  4. Hestia here,

My favorite thing about fall is it’s now cool enough to heat up to the kitchen. Baking makes a home smell, well, homey. FYI, I found a chick cookie cutter. Might be one of the first things I make.

What is everyone’s favorite baking scent? My favorite is definitely vanilla.

  5. Autumn means finally getting some cooler temperatures. I live in the Florida Panhandle, and we only get a few weeks of more comfortable temperatures so our AC doesn’t have to work so hard to cool the house.

  6. Once the high desert temperatures get cooler I can wear long slacks and sleeves again and add a light blanket to the bed. I’ll need it to be colder to actually wear sweaters, etc. I’m just happy it’s cooler!

  7. Fall here in So Cal is Santa Anna wind season. I HATE wind. And the fires that often come with it only make the season worse for me.

While I do feel cozy on rainy days, especially when I don’t have to go anywhere, I really enjoy summer. To me, it’s the coziest season. But I love hanging out by the pool or other body of water. Life seems slower (even though it really isn’t) because I still associate it with summer vacation from school. It’s a nice, relaxing season. Plus, I enjoy warm weather.
