Presidents Day is almost upon us. Legend has it that George Washington never told a lie. Alas, not all the Chicks can make the same claim. This week we share some of the whoppers we’ve told and the trouble we’ve gotten into when we were less than honest.
We’re thrilled to have Loretta Ross as our guest today! Loretta’s Auction Block Mysteries have been called “fresh and enjoyable” by Mystery Scene Magazine and “charming” and “lively” by Publishers Weekly. The fourth in the series, Death and the Viking’s Daughter, is out February 8 from Midnight Ink. Last week I got the author’s copies of my fourth book, Death and the Viking’s Daughter, and realized, to … Continue reading Guest Chick: Loretta Ross
It’s no surprise that when I sat down to write about a murder that takes place at a wedding, the first image that came to mind was of a bridesmaid dress. Because let’s face it, they can be awful.
I’m still not over my first. I was a flat-chested pre-teen with braces and a bad haircut, and I had to wear a powder-blue polyester dress that only exacerbated the situation. Thanks to the internet, a lot of bad bridesmaids’ dresses are just a Pinterest-search away. Continue reading Bridesmaid dresses: A motive for murder?
When you get a jury summons, do you think, “Oh, good, I am pleased at this opportunity to bring justice to the world?” — or do you start feverishly Googling “How to get out of jury duty”? Today, the Chicks discuss whether they’re a “yea” or a “nay” when it comes to courtroom drama. Continue reading “The Chicks Get Jury Duty”
So what happens when a mystery author (me) attends an Agatha Christie-style dinner in an actual mansion? Does she solve the crime and command everyone to gather in the drawing room for the astonishing reveal? Let’s just say I may never get a shot at that guest star role on Murder, She Wrote… Continue reading Whoddunit? No Clue.
The Chicks love so many things — books, fans, mystery conferences, wine, cookies — and each other, of course. But it turns out there are some things we absolutely don’t love and can’t abide. (SPOILER: Dinner with us might exclude the fish and soup courses, and a certain herb).
(The winner in the GIVEAWAY for Curses, Boiled Again! by Shari Randall, who was our guest Chick this week, is Sue Farrell. Congratulations, Sue!)
We’re thrilled to have the charming and talented Shari Randall as our Guest Chick today! Her debut novel, Curses Boiled Again, will be released next week (Jan. 30, 2018). Bestselling author Krista Davis describes Shari’s first entry in the Lobster Shack mystery series as “A fun whodunit full of New England Coastal charm and characters who feel like friends.” Take it away, Shari! Hi Chicks! Thank … Continue reading Team Nancy or Team Trixie?
